Lotto - How to Play

The Lotto Draw

Since it was launched in 1968, Lotto has been an inseparable part of the leisure culture in Israel. Lotto offers the highest prizes of any draw in Israel, and is the only one that gives the participants a bi-weekly opportunity to become a millionaire.

In each draw 6 numbers are picked out of 37, and one additional ‘power' number out of 7. Correctly guessing 6 numbers, together with the power number, entitles the participant to the first prize.

The ‘power’ number is an inseparable part of the Lotto draw and appears on a separate table of 7 numbers. On all types of forms it is obligatory to also fill in the power number, but - in the new Lotto it is possible to become a millionaire even if you correctly guess only 6 numbers, without the power number!

The Lotto draw takes place twice a week (on Tuesday and on Saturday night). All of the draws are broadcast live on Channel 10 and on the internet.

Amount of the Win

The first prize for Lotto is a minimum of NIS 4 million (and in Double Lotto, the minimum is NIS 8 million). For a draw in which there was no first prize winner, the prize accumulates to the next draw. The second prize is half a million New Shekels, and that also accumulates to the next draw if there is no winner.

The Lotto draw offers three possibilities for participation:

Regular Lotto

Regular Lotto6 numbers (from 1 to 37) are marked on the Lotto form in the large table, and one power number (from 1 to 7) from the right side of the table. The power number is an inseparable part of the Lotto draw and it is mandatory to mark it. On every Lotto form you can fill in from 2 to 14 tables in multiple pairs.

Do you want to earn twice as much? On the Double Lotto form you can double the sum of your winnings!
The Double Lotto form is identical in its structure to the regular Lotto (and contains 10 tables insted of 14). The only difference is the cost of the form. While the price of a table on the regular form is NIS 2.90, the price per table on the Double Lotto is double, and costs NIS 5.80.

Systematic Lotto

Systematic LottoOne of the methods for increasing the chances of winning, and winning a larger prize in the Lotto draw is by using the “Systematic Lotto” form. This form allows you to fill in more than one combination on a single table, unlike the Regular Lotto form.

The price of the Systematic form is calculated by the number of combinations that were selected, times NIS 2.90 per combination. Because of the multiple combinations, the secondary prizes of Systematic Lotto are also higher than for Regular Lotto.
